Purchase Ledger Clerk / Finance Officer

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk / Finance Officer in the transport and distribution industry, you'll play a key role in keeping the accounts running smoothly by handling invoices, payments, and other financial tasks. Based in Cardiff, this temp to perm role will see you working closely with the finance team to support daily operations and maintain accurate financial records.

Description

• Process and reconcile supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.


• Handle payment runs and resolve any supplier queries promptly.


• Maintain and update purchase ledger records to ensure accuracy.


• Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation.


• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.


• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.


• Support month-end and year-end financial processes as required.


• Identify and help resolve discrepancies in financial records.

A successful Purchase Ledger Clerk / Finance Officer should have:

• Experience in purchase ledger or a similar finance role.


• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.


• A good understanding of accounting principles and practices.


• Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.


• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.


• Clear and professional communication skills.

• An annual salary equivalent of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
