Pub Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Pub Manager to oversee daily operations of our village pub. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of beverage service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, maintaining food safety standards (snacks), and driving the overall success of the establishment. Previous experience in pub or hospitality management, is highly desirable. The Pub Manager will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pub team, including bar staff, to ensure smooth daily operations


• Manage the bar service, including serving drinks


• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness


• Organise staff rotas and monitor performance


• Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to guarantee customer satisfaction


• Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory control effectively


• Implement promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing clientele


• Monitor financial performance and contribute to budgeting processes (note: salary details not included)

Experience

• Proven supervisory experience within a hospitality environment


• Extensive knowledge of food safety standards


• Experience in managing teams within a busy pub or restaurant setting


• Previous roles involving serving customers in hospitality settings such as hotels or bars are advantageous


• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment


• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to pubs


• Experience in managing bar operations is beneficial but not essential


• Knowledge of licensing, health and safety and compliance.
