This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing business, operating through London, Greater London and within a certain radius of the M25.
We are seeking a versatile and skilled Handy Man to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work, combined with strong trades experience and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be a hard working self starter with the ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Minor electrical repairs: Replacing bulbs, rewiring sockets, installing doorbells, alarms, and thermostats.
- Minor plumbing fixes: Installing taps, sinks, repairing minor leaks, re-apply sealant.
- Carpentry & joinery: Installing cabinets, doors, countertops, flooring (tiles, laminate, hardwood), and repairing fixtures.
- Painting & decorating: Painting walls and ceilings, sanding surfaces, touching up skirting boards and frames.
- Roofing & guttering: Identifying and repairing leaks, clearing debris, replacing shingles, and improving insulation.
- Landscaping & groundskeeping: Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, watering beds, and repairing fences or walls.
- General maintenance: Conducting safety checks, installing security systems, and performing routine upkeep on office or building facilities.
- Practical experience with hand and power tools.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments (indoors, outdoors, at height, in basements).
- Basic literacy and numeracy (GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths).
- Safety awareness: Following OSHA or UK health and safety guidelines, and using protective equipment.
- Customer service skills: Communicating clearly with clients, providing quotes, and maintaining professionalism.
- Relevant certifications (not mandatory but highly valued): NVQ, CSCS card, First Aid, PAT testing, or Domestic Installer status.
- Works in homes, offices, schools, hospitals, retail spaces, and construction sites.
- Weekday hours (9am–5pm), though evening or weekend may occasionally come up.
- Must have - Own tools, a UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle i.e. a small van or above.
