Promoter \& Events Organiser / Social Media \& Promotions Manager

Oxford Social – Manchester

Oxford Social is a busy bar and nightlife venue in Manchester, known for its events, parties, music and vibrant atmosphere.

We are looking for a creative, ambitious and highly organised Promoter \& Events Organiser to take ownership of our events, promotions, social media and nightlife marketing.

This is a hands\-on role for someone who understands the Manchester nightlife scene and knows how to create events, build hype, attract customers and turn ideas into busy nights and profitable bookings.

The ideal person will be outgoing, energetic, commercially minded and full of ideas, with the confidence to build relationships, promote events and get people through the door.

Commission available on tickets sold for your own events

The more successful your events are, the more you can earn.

The Role

You will take a leading role in:

  • Organising and promoting weekly and special events.

  • Developing new event concepts, themed nights and promotions.

  • Building relationships with DJs, performers, influencers, promoters and local businesses.

  • Managing Oxford Social's social media and promotional activity.

  • Creating campaigns that generate footfall, bookings and revenue.

  • Organising guest lists, ticketing, giveaways and promotional activity.

  • Creating content and promotional material for upcoming events.

  • Managing private party and group booking enquiries.

  • Being present at key events to oversee promotions and capture content.

  • Identifying new opportunities to increase Oxford Social's profile within Manchester's nightlife scene.
Event Promotion \& Organisation
  • Plan and organise weekly, monthly and special events.

  • Develop new concepts for themed nights, parties and promotional events.

  • Create event plans including DJs, performers, entertainment and promotional activity.

  • Create timelines and promotional schedules for upcoming events.

  • Work with DJs, artists, performers, promoters and external partners.

  • Organise guest lists, ticketing, competitions and giveaways.

  • Build excitement in the weeks and days leading up to events.

  • Attend and help manage key events.

  • Capture content during events to support future promotion.

  • Review event performance and identify ways to improve future events.

  • Develop ideas to increase attendance, bookings and customer spend.
Promoter Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can actively promote Oxford Social, rather than simply post content online.

You will:

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, promoters and local communities.

  • Develop your own promotional ideas and campaigns.

  • Encourage customers to attend Oxford Social events.

  • Promote events through social media, direct engagement and relevant local channels.

  • Work with student groups, societies, businesses, influencers and local organisations.

  • Develop partnerships and collaborations that bring new customers to the venue.

  • Build a network of customers and potential customers.

  • Identify opportunities to attract new audiences.

  • Drive bookings and attendance through promotional activity.

  • Represent Oxford Social professionally at events and promotional activities.
Commission \& Incentives

The role includes an opportunity to earn commission on tickets sold for events organised and promoted by you.

  • Commission is paid on verified ticket sales attributed to your events.

  • The more tickets you sell, the more you can earn.

  • You will have the opportunity to develop and promote your own events at Oxford Social.

  • Successful event concepts can become regular events.

  • Additional commission opportunities may be available for successful private and group bookings.
This means you can build your earnings alongside building your own events and reputation as a promoter.

Social Media Management

You will take responsibility for managing Oxford Social's social media presence, including:

  • Instagram

  • TikTok

  • Facebook

  • Other relevant platforms
Responsibilities include:
  • Planning and maintaining a regular content calendar.

  • Creating and publishing Reels, TikToks, Stories and posts.

  • Promoting upcoming events and offers.

  • Creating behind\-the\-scenes and nightlife content.

  • Capturing DJs, performers, customers and the atmosphere of the venue.

  • Responding to relevant comments and messages.

  • Monitoring engagement, reach and content performance.

  • Identifying current TikTok, Instagram and nightlife trends.

  • Working with influencers and creators.

  • Using social media to generate real attendance, enquiries and bookings.
Promotional Campaigns
  • Create campaigns for events, parties and special offers.

  • Develop promotional strategies for new events.

  • Produce posters, flyers and digital promotional material.

  • Coordinate online and offline promotion.

  • Develop competitions, giveaways and incentives.

  • Identify opportunities for cross\-promotion.

  • Work with DJs, performers, influencers and partners to maximise event exposure.

  • Track which promotional activity generates the strongest response.
Bookings \& Events
  • Manage enquiries for birthdays, parties, student groups, corporate events and private hire.

  • Respond quickly and professionally to enquiries.

  • Follow up potential bookings.

  • Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.

  • Promote private hire and group packages.

  • Develop promotional campaigns specifically targeting group bookings.

  • Liaise with management regarding upcoming bookings.

  • Help increase both the number and value of bookings.
Content \& Creative

Although the main focus of the role is promotion and events, you will also create content to support those activities.

You will:

  • Film short\-form videos.

  • Create TikToks and Instagram Reels.

  • Photograph events and the venue.

  • Create event posters and promotional graphics.

  • Produce Stories and promotional content.

  • Use Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator or similar software where appropriate.

  • Keep Oxford Social's visual identity consistent.
You don't need to be a professional videographer or graphic designer — the ability to create effective promotional content is more important than technical perfection.
