Project Officer (Part\-Time)

Contract: Temporary (ongoing – no fixed end date, subject to funding). Working hours: 4 hours each on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

About Seniors in Touch (SIT)

Seniors in Touch is a Thamesmead‑based charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and isolation among people aged 50 and above. We bring people together through weekly social activities, gentle exercise, arts and crafts, and group discussions that promote wellbeing, friendship, and connection.

Alongside our core programme, we run SITMEN — a monthly wellbeing project for men over 50, held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. SITMEN provides a supportive space for men to talk, share experiences, and build confidence.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and community‑focused Project Officer to support the delivery of our weekly SIT sessions and monthly SITMEN programme. You will help plan and run activities, support participants during sessions, coordinate volunteers, and work with partners to ensure our projects meet the needs of older adults.

This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people and is committed to improving wellbeing and inclusion for older adults.

1\. Session Delivery \& Facilitation

  • Plan, organise, and deliver engaging weekly SIT sessions (arts and crafts, games, discussions, gentle exercise).

  • Support and help facilitate the monthly SITMEN session (3rd Wednesday of each month).

  • Create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.

  • Support SIT and SITMEN participants with basic IT training, helping build digital confidence.

  • Provide guidance and ensure volunteers feel confident in their roles.

  • Support volunteers assisting with IT‑related activities.
3\. Monitoring, Administration \& Reporting
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.

  • Collect and record participant feedback.

  • Support monitoring and evaluation activities as required.
4\. Community Engagement \& Partnership Working
  • Liaise with community partners, local groups, and organisations to strengthen project delivery.

  • Contribute to community engagement, outreach, and fundraising efforts.

  • Represent Seniors in Touch positively within the community.
5\. Safeguarding \& Compliance
  • Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding, health \& safety, and organisational policies.

  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all times.
