Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Supporting grant call development and peer review processes

  • Providing project support across a portfolio of awards and schemes

  • Searching for and securing expert peer reviewers for submitted grant applications

  • Developing research call documentation and coordinating responses to queries from applicants and host institutions

  • Co\-ordinating all communication with applicants, including feedback on applications

  • Interacting with other national and international agencies to advance joint funding initiatives
Supporting post\-award management and evaluation processes
  • Supporting contract negotiations, finalisation of award milestones, deliverables, budgets and payments

  • Managing and responding to requests for grant variations

  • Supporting monitoring of research awards including annual reports, interim reviews and end\-of grant reports

  • Providing support for broader evaluation activities to assess the outcomes and impact of HRB funding
Supporting communication activities
  • Supporting the production and promotion of online communications and resources

  • Supporting the delivery of events and engagement activities with stakeholders
Developing relationships and managing communications with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Essential knowledge and experience

Formal requirements include:

Ideally, the successful candidate will be PhD qualified but must, at a minimum, have a NFQ Level 9 qualification (Masters / Post Graduate Diploma) in a relevant field. Relevant fields include all health\-related areas, including in disciplines such as social sciences, engineering, business etc as well as healthcare professions and life sciences.

A minimum of two years’ relevant experience post\-degree is required, which should demonstrate technical expertise, organisational skills and an understanding of the requirements of project management objectives.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and experience of databases

  • Prior project management experience.
