Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead and deliver civil engineering and water infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on public realm, urban environments, and live water networks. The successful candidate will oversee all stages of project delivery, from planning through to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and value for all stakeholders, while coordinating complex watermain and utility works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil engineering and waterworks projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Oversee and coordinate watermain installations, diversions, and upgrades (110mm – 600mm diameter), ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

  • Assist with and supervise water main fitting and associated civil works, including trenching, backfilling, reinstatement, and tie\-ins to existing networks.

  • Coordinate and ensure the successful delivery of PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve) installations and valve installations on live water networks.

  • Manage works involving hydrants, sluice valves, air valves, and associated fittings, ensuring correct installation and commissioning.

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using Microsoft Project, including critical path analysis, resource allocation, and progress tracking.

  • Monitor project performance against programme, proactively identifying delays, risks, and opportunities, and implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless alignment of project goals.

  • Liaise with water authorities, utilities providers, and local authorities to ensure compliance, permitting, and coordination of works on live networks.

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health \& Safety legislation, including safe practices for working on or near live water infrastructure (PSDP/PSCS responsibilities as applicable).

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including clients, local authorities, utilities providers, and the general public.

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on project status, programme updates, risks, and key issues.

  • Support tender submissions by preparing project programmes and offering planning expertise, particularly for water infrastructure and utilities projects.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5\+ years’ proven experience in a project management role within civil engineering, preferably with waterworks or utilities experience.

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering water infrastructure, pipeline, or public realm projects, ideally in complex urban environments.

  • Strong understanding of watermain construction, fittings, pressure management (PRVs), and network operations.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, with the ability to draft, update, and manage live programmes.

  • Solid knowledge of civil engineering techniques, traffic management, utilities coordination, and reinstatement works.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Commercial awareness with experience of public works contracts (desirable).

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Pay: €53,364\.72\-€80,000\.00 per year
