An established organisation delivering complex infrastructure and engineering projects is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of highways, transport, public realm and civil engineering schemes. This is an opportunity to work on projects that deliver meaningful improvements to infrastructure and local communities within a collaborative and professional environment.
Your new role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering design and construction commissions through the full project lifecycle, from project development and design through to procurement, delivery and handover.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the successful delivery of highways, transport, public realm and infrastructure projects.
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, delivery plans, budgets and risk registers.
- Coordinating consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Monitoring project performance and reporting on project progress, risks and key milestones.
- Managing project budgets and financial performance against approved funding allocations.
- Preparing project reports, dashboards and governance documentation.
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities.
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Supporting the development of project management best practice and governance processes.
- Providing guidance and support to junior project team members where appropriate.
- Degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in Project Management, Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
- A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent.
- Experience delivering highways, transport, infrastructure, public realm or engineering projects.
- Demonstrable experience managing engineering design and construction projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong programme, budget, governance and risk management capabilities.
- Experience using Microsoft Project to develop, manage and report on project schedules.
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel as required.
