Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy. Independent since 1875, we are proud to deliver award\-winning projects around the world. We are a Great Place to Work certified employer, with our people at the heart of everything we do.
Climate change and Sustainability is at the top of our agenda; we have been established within the energy sector for the past 40 years and have achieved significant growth in the past years as we contribute to a sector that will have trillions of pounds of investment over the next decade. Our teams are at the forefront of the change, managing life changing projects in Solar, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Renewables and Defence, and we want you to be part of that too.
The Energy team is expanding, and we are looking to recruit a Project Manager to play a critical role in supporting the delivery of major, complex projects within the nuclear sector. This role will focus on driving successful project outcomes through strong coordination, stakeholder management, governance, risk management, and delivery oversight. The ideal candidate will bring a broad understanding of project management across the full project lifecycle, with the ability to manage competing priorities, support effective decision\-making, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed objectives.
Your day to day could involve:
+ Lead and coordinate the delivery of assigned workstreams or project packages, ensuring progress against agreed scope, programme, budget and quality requirements.
+ Act as a key point of contact between the client, contractors, consultants and internal project teams.
Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, supporting clear communication and effective decision\-making.
+ Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and support the development of mitigation plans.
+ Manage project governance, including reporting cycles, meeting structures, action tracking, and decision logs.
+ Support the management of change, ensuring impacts to scope, cost, programme, risk, and resources are clearly understood and communicated.
+ Prepare and contribute to project reports, dashboards, briefing, and progress updates for senior stakeholders.
+ Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs to ensure project information is accurate, timely, and aligned.
+ Support commercial and contractual processes, working closely with cost, planning and project controls colleagues.
+ Drive collaboration across teams to resolve blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
+ Ensure project documentation, records, and governance outputs are maintained to the required standard.
+ Contribute to lessons learned, continuous improvement and best practice across the wider Energy team.
However, in the consultancy world, no two days are the same! We are a flexible team that support each other’s projects as well as getting in involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development.
Who we're looking for:
+ Relevant experience in project management is required, with experience in Nuclear or Nuclear Decommissioning desirable but not essential.
+ Experience with standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite, FIDIC and Public Contract Regulations 2015, would be beneficial. A candidate’s personal and communication skills, ambition, drive, and energy will be considered equally important to their success in the role.
+ Experience mechanical and electrical would also be highly beneficial.
+ Ideally, candidates will be HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a similar relevant discipline. Applicants with an alternative background may also be considered where they can demonstrate suitable project management experience.
Professional qualifications and/or membership of APM, MICE, MIMechE, CIOB or another relevant Chartered Institute are desirable and will be supported if not already attained.
