Role overview
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team at our Yorkshire office in Knaresborough. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced Project Managers and site supervisors to ensure the safe, timely, and cost\-effective delivery of our rendering, retrofitting, and refurbishment projects.

Key responsibilities
- Project coordination: Assist the Project Manager in the day\-to\-day running of multiple sites, ensuring works (including rendering, external wall insulation, and renewables installations) progress according to schedule and budget.
- Site operations: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve on\-site challenges, and ensure high standards of quality control are maintained.
- Health and safety compliance: Promote a strong safety culture on site. Assist in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations and company H\&S policies.
- Stakeholder communication: Act as a key point of contact for site supervisors, sub\-contractors, and clients. Ensure effective communication with residents (particularly in social housing projects) to minimise disruption and maintain positive relationships.
- Resource management: Assist in the procurement and coordination of site materials, plant, and labour to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Administration and reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, track variations, prepare progress reports, and assist with handover documentation at project completion.
- Experience: Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally within retrofitting, rendering, social housing, or commercial refurbishments.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of the construction life cycle, site operations, and basic project management principles.
- Certifications: Valid CSCS card. SSSTS or SMSTS qualification is highly desirable (though training can be supported for the right candidate).
- Skills:
- Strong organisational and time\-management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and general IT systems.
- Ability to problem\-solve under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions.
- Other: A full UK Driving Licence is essential, as travel to various sites across the region will be required.
