About the Role
IN2 Consult is partnering with an international, globally leading client on the recruitment of a Project Finance Business Partner to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is not a traditional FP&A or project accounting role. Instead, we are looking for someone who can partner closely with Programme Managers, influence decision-making, and proactively drive project performance through forecasting, earned value analysis, and risk-based insight.
You will play a key role in ensuring programmes remain financially on track, identifying risks and opportunities early, and supporting delivery of strong project margins.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Partner with Programme/Project Managers to support financial planning and performance management across multiple programmes
- Deliver Earned Value Analysis (EVA/EVM) to assess project health and performance
- Own and maintain project forecasting, including:
- Estimates at Completion (EACs)
- Reforecasts and long-range projections
- Scenario and “what-if” modelling
- Conduct variance analysis, identifying drivers of cost, revenue, and margin movements
- Proactively assess project risks and opportunities, recommending actions to improve outcomes
- Support programme reviews, providing clear and actionable financial insights
- Analyse project costs, resource allocation, and hours to ensure alignment with margin expectations
- Contribute to bid/pricing activities and financial modelling as required
- Support reporting requirements, including work aligned to Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR) and DefCARS (desirable)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and programme teams
This role requires someone who is commercially minded, analytically strong, and comfortable operating in a project-driven environment.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a Project Finance Analyst / Project Analyst / Programme Analyst role
- Strong background in:
- Project forecasting & reforecasting
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Variance and trend analysis
- Scenario modelling and financial planning
- Experience working closely with Project/Programme Managers
- Ability to interpret data and translate it into clear, actionable insights
- Strong Excel skills (comfortable working with large datasets and building models)
- Exposure to regulated contract environments (e.g., SSCR / DefCARS)
- Experience in industries such as defence, engineering, construction, or other project-based environments
- ERP system experience (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft)
- Accounting qualification desirable but not essential
- Candidates qualified by experience with strong project analysis capability are encouraged to apply
