Project Finance & Accounts Assistant (Mandarin Speaking-Essential)
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail\-oriented "Project Finance \& Accounts Assistant" to join our growing team.
This role is suitable for an Accounting or Finance graduate, or someone with 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration who would like to develop their career in project finance and management accounting.
The role will support the financial management of multiple projects, ensuring that project income, costs, profitability and customer payments are accurately recorded and monitored.
You will work closely with our Project Managers, Project Support team and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Finance \& Cost Control
\- Record and monitor project revenue and expenditure.
\- Allocate supplier invoices, purchase orders, labour and other costs to the correct projects.
\- Maintain records of committed costs, including outstanding purchase orders.
\- Assist in preparing project profit and loss reports.
\- Monitor actual and forecast project costs.
\- Calculate project gross profit and gross margin.
\- Compare project performance against budget and highlight unusual costs or potential overspend.
\- Work with Project Managers to ensure project costs and variations are properly captured.
\- Maintain accurate project finance spreadsheets and reports.
- Accounts Receivable \& Credit Control
\- Monitor outstanding and overdue invoices.
\- Prepare weekly aged debtor reports.
\- Follow up outstanding payments with customers by email and telephone.
\- Contact customer Accounts Payable and Procurement teams to confirm payment status.
\- Investigate payment delays, invoice queries, missing POs and other payment issues.
\- Maintain records of expected payment dates and customer commitments.
\- Escalate significantly overdue accounts to management.
\- Assist in preparing weekly cash collection forecasts.
- Bookkeeping \& Accounts Support
\- Assist with bank and supplier reconciliations.
\- Maintain accurate accounting records.
\- Check invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation.
\- Assist with expense processing and general finance administration.
\- Support month\-end accounting activities.
\- Work with the Finance team and external accountants where required.
\- Maintain accurate records within Zoho Books and other company systems.

Candidate Requirements
- Essential:
\- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related subject, "or" relevant practical accounting experience.
\- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
\- Good understanding of revenue, costs, profit and margin.
\- Good Excel skills.
\- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
\- Good organisational and record
\-keeping skills.
\- Confident written and verbal communication.
\- Willingness to communicate directly with customers regarding outstanding payments.
\- Proactive attitude and willingness to follow issues through to resolution.
- Desirable:
\- AAT qualification or studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA.
\- Experience using Zoho Books, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
\- Experience working within construction, engineering, IT infrastructure, M\&E or another project\-based business.
\- Experience with project costing or management accounts.
\- Full UK Driving License preferred.

Pay: £26,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
