Job summary

This role sits within the Cambridge Growth Company (CGC), a subsidiary of Homes England. The CGC is a small but growing cross\-disciplinary team of professionals with a focus on supporting the Government’s ambition for Cambridge. Government has set out ambitious plans to grow the greater Cambridge economy and associated housing, which is critically important to UK Plc. Ensuring this growth happens within an urban exemplar of placemaking will be essential to existing and future residents.

Job description

Working collaboratively with public and private sector partners, this role will support the Senior Manager and Head of Project Delivery to progress opportunities for site and infrastructure acceleration including funding (equity, grant and loan), acquisitions and partnering (including CPO) and acting as an interface with existing Homes England programmes and teams. the role will also support the team to create, unlock, accelerate and develop a pipeline of future activity in line with growth plans and the developing evidence base for Cambridge, driving forward the Government’s ambitious vision for Cambridge. This is an exciting role offering the opportunity to participate in one of the region’s most transformational projects and work in partnership to meet housing need.

Person specification

We are looking for someone to join our Team who understands and is passionate about the delivery of quality homes, placemaking and regeneration and wants to work in an inclusive, supportive and driven team.

You will be motivated by the transformative impact of placemaking and understand the ability of a development led response to tackle social deprivation and economic underperformance.

The successful candidate will ideally have post\-qualification skills and experience in technical and commercial acumen, knowledge of mixed\-use development, skills and experience of working on large and complex sites to support the Cambridge ambition and accelerate delivery of major projects. Familiarity the business case process and experience in working with departments on major strategic projects will also be valued.

The role also requires an understanding of sustainable place\-making, planning and relevant Government policies and priorities and will have experience of translating policy into operational delivery.

The successful candidate will be required to work as a team player to meet objectives aligned with the strategic ambitions for the wider team.
