On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Project Accounting Lead based in Edinburgh/London for a 6-month contract. It will be a hybrid model.

Purpose of the role:
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in Life financial reporting and accounting to support delivery of the Life Cost & Financial Reporting (LC&FR) transformation programme, helping modernise processes, improve IFRS and regulatory reporting, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort and contractor reliance across Finance, Actuarial and Systems teams.
What you'll do:
- Provide technical accounting leadership across Life products, ensuring outcomes align to IFRS, Solvency UK and internal policy requirements
- Act as the primary SME interface between Finance, Actuarial, Change and Systems teams
- Lead design and implementation of target-state reporting processes and controls
- Review and challenge accounting treatments, journal design and reporting outputs
- Support development of robust control frameworks aligned to audit and regulatory expectations
- Provide oversight and coaching to SME accountants and offshore resources (Mumbai)
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong Life insurance accounting knowledge (IFRS / regulatory reporting)
- Experience in finance transformation or system-led change programmes
- Strong stakeholder management across Finance, Actuarial and Technology
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions
