Professional Services Manager - eFinancialCareers
Permanent role based in Leicester, with 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH, reporting to the Head of Professional Services.
The role is a senior technical position focused on IR35, Off-Payroll Working, employment status, employment tax and personal tax. The person will provide technical oversight, review consultants’ work, handle complex client queries and support HMRC enquiries, disclosures and settlements.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for Tax Consultants.
- Review and sign off technical reports, advice and client recommendations.
- Advise clients on complex IR35, employment status and employment tax matters.
- Manage/support HMRC enquiries, disclosures and settlements.
- Monitor HMRC guidance, legislation and case law.
- Mentor and develop Tax Consultants through coaching and training.
- Build strong client relationships and support proposals/business development.
- Support the Head of Professional Services with complex or high-risk engagements.
Someone with strong experience in UK employment tax and IR35, ideally from a tax, consultancy, legal or professional services background.
Must have:
- ATT qualification or significant relevant experience.
- IR35 / Off-Payroll / employment status experience.
- Strong PAYE, NIC, CIS and personal tax knowledge.
- Experience dealing with HMRC enquiries and settlements.
- Strong technical review and advisory skills.
- Experience mentoring or coaching others.
- Good client-facing and communication skills.
A senior UK tax/IR35 specialist who can provide technical leadership, review consultancy work, advise clients on complex employment tax matters and develop a team of Tax Consultants.
