Salary: c.£35,000–£45,000 dependent on experience

Do you have hands\-on experience across both production planning and purchasing within a technical manufacturing environment?
An established manufacturer is looking for an experienced professional to coordinate production requirements, materials and supplier activity.
You’ll ensure components with varying lead times are ordered, available and scheduled correctly, keeping production on track and resolving potential shortages before they cause delays.
What you’ll be doing
- Creating and managing production plans and works orders
- Purchasing manufactured parts, electrical items and technical components
- Planning material requirements against build schedules and lead times
- Maintaining accurate Bills of Materials within the ERP/MRP system
- Monitoring stock availability and identifying shortages early
- Expediting critical components to prevent production delays
- Managing supplier performance, pricing and delivery commitments
- Negotiating improved rates, terms and service levels
- Working closely with engineering, production, finance and operations
- Improving planning, purchasing and inventory processes
- Production planning experience within engineering or technical manufacturing
- Hands\-on purchasing experience covering components with different lead times
- Strong ERP or MRP systems knowledge
- Experience working with Bills of Materials and works orders
- A good understanding of how materials flow through a manufacturing operation
- Confidence managing suppliers and challenging delivery dates
- Excellent organisation, accuracy and commercial awareness
This role will not suit someone whose experience is mainly within food production, retail supply chain, warehousing or general logistics.
