PRODUCTION OPERATIVE
ABOUT THE ROLE
We?re looking for a proactive and adaptable Production Operator to join our garment decoration team. Our production team is fully cross-trained across screen printing, embroidery and digital print, enabling us to adapt to changing customer demand and production schedules. As a member of the team, you?ll work across all departments and be assigned where capacity is needed most, ensuring orders are completed efficiently without compromising on quality.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys learning new skills, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and thrives in a collaborative production environment.
Key Responsibilities: • Work across screen printing, embroidery and digital print departments as required by production demand.
- Prepare jobs for production, including screen preparation, ink colour mixing and machine setup.
- Operate screen printing equipment, including automatic presses using water-based inks.
- Operate embroidery and digital print equipment to produce high-quality finished garments.
- Work overtime and/or stagger hours where required to support production schedules, client demand and business needs.
- Accurately interpret work orders, production schedules and PDF proofs.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the production process.
- Meet daily production and quality targets.
- Maintain screens, machinery and equipment, carrying out routine maintenance and reporting faults when necessary.
- Arrange for screens to be de-hazed or re-stretched as required.
- Monitor stock levels of inks, threads and other production consumables.
- Update job progress using our Order Management System.
- Work closely with colleagues across production and logistics to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Organise workload efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all company policies and health & safety procedures.
ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in at least one garment decoration discipline (screen printing, embroidery or digital print), or a strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work accurately in a production environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise changing workloads.
- Reliable, conscientious and self-motivated.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work across multiple production departments.
- IT competent, including basic file management.
- Screen printing experience using water-based inks.
- Experience operating automatic screen printing presses.
- Commercial embroidery machine experience.
- Digital garment printing experience (DTF, DTG or similar).
- Experience using production or order management software.
- Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Terms: Hours: 37.5hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Wage: £26,500 ? £29,000 per annum (based on experience)
Benefits: The holiday entitlement is 225 hours p.a. including bank holidays, (the equivalent of 30 days pa).
