Production Manager
Job Advert: ZooBells are looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of our glamping operations at festivals and outdoor events nationwide.
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the build and break of ZooBells glamping areas, site logistics, subcontractors, plant operations and site services, while acting as a key point of communication between internal teams, external suppliers and festival production teams.
This is a senior operational role requiring strong organisation, leadership and problem\-solving skills. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers and Build Managers to ensure builds are delivered safely, efficiently and to deadline, while maintaining high presentation standards across all guest\-facing areas.
During live event periods, the Production Manager will assist with maintenance operations where required and lead the response to any operational issues that arise on site.
This role would suit someone who thrives in fast\-paced outdoor event environments, is highly practical and organised, and can remain calm and decisive under pressure.
ZooBells operates at festivals and events nationwide throughout the Summer season.
Hours: will vary depending on event schedules and will include weekends \& long days during busy periods.
This is a seasonal position, with start and end dates flexible and to be discussed (typically mid July to mid\-September).
Salary: Hourly Rate dependent on experience, plus holiday pay (between £16\-19 per hour)
Both employed and self\-employed/freelance candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities \& Duties
The Production Manager is often one of the most senior ZooBells representatives on site and holds responsibility for the coordination of logistics, build operations, crew management, subcontractors and equipment accountability throughout the build, live event and de\-rig phases.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with planning and delivering rig and de\-rig schedules alongside the Project Manager and Build Manager
- Coordinating logistics, haulage movements, stock distribution and resource planning
- Managing telehandler operations and movement of equipment across site
- Planning and marking out build areas in adherence with client requirements and CAD layouts
- Acting as the main point of contact for festival production and event control teams
- Working closely with Build Managers and Team Leaders to ensure daily deadlines are achieved
- Maintaining accountability for company stock and equipment from arrival through to departure
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and external service providers
- Responding to operational challenges including weather disruption, schedule changes and staffing issues
- Ensuring all health \& safety procedures are followed and company property is handled correctly
- Maintaining presentation standards across all guest\-facing areas
- Overseeing maintenance operations during live event periods
- Assisting with reception operations where required
- Completing all relevant paperwork including timesheets, site reports and stock documentation
- Supporting and developing crew, team leaders and operators on site
- Builds delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule
- Strong communication between crews, management and external partners
- Well\-organised build sites, boneyards and logistics operations
- High standards maintained across guest\-facing areas
- Calm and effective management of unexpected operational challenges
- Positive crew morale and strong team leadership throughout long build periods
Essential
- Previous experience in live events, temporary structures, site operations or production management
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to lead teams and communicate effectively under pressure
- Practical mindset with strong problem\-solving ability
- Good level of physical fitness \- this is a hands\-on role
- Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work weekends and long hours during busy periods
- Full UK driving licence and own transport due to rural site locations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Experience working within festivals, events, hospitality or outdoor accommodation
- Telehandler, forklift, CPCS or NPORS certification
- IOSH or other health \& safety qualifications
- First Aid qualification
- Previous people management experience
