Production Manager
About You
Could you be The Original Baker’s new Production Manager? This is an exciting time to join us, as we embark on a new chapter with a brand\-new factory and equipment to produce our high\-quality sweet and savoury baked products.
Our Production Manager will bring strong leadership experience gained within food manufacturing, a proactive and hands\-on management style, and a passion for delivering operational excellence. You will play a key role in ensuring our production operations run safely, efficiently and effectively, while supporting continuous improvement across the factory.
In this role, you'll lead and motivate production teams, driving performance, quality and engagement while ensuring production targets are achieved. Working closely with colleagues across Operations, Technical, Quality and NPD, you'll help deliver outstanding products to our customers and contribute to the continued growth and success of the business.

What You'll Do
- Work closely with the Production Director and wider management team to ensure the smooth day\-to\-day running of the production facility.
- Create and deliver production plans, ensuring the right people, materials, equipment and resources are in place to meet customer demand efficiently and on time.
- Maintain the highest standards of Health \& Safety, Food Safety and product quality.
- Work to SALSA standards, supporting the Technical team as we transition to BRCGS accreditation.
- Monitor production performance, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and waste reduction.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects to drive business performance.
- Provide clear direction, coaching and feedback to enable high levels of team performance and engagement.
- Carry out line management responsibilities including team briefings, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews and development planning.
- Conduct regular one\-to\-ones, return\-to\-work meetings and day\-to\-day people management activities.
- Manage attendance, absence and performance issues in line with company policies, working closely with the People team where required.
- Ensure all production records and documentation are completed accurately and maintained in accordance with company, customer and audit requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical, Quality, Procurement and NPD teams to support operational excellence and successful product launches.
- Build strong working relationships across The Original Baker.
- Promote and embed company values throughout the production team.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support business needs.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Production Management role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety, Quality and Health \& Safety requirements within food production.
- HACCP Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) desirable.
- Experience of working within SALSA, BRCGS or similar accredited food manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams while driving a positive and accountable culture.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to balance short\-term operational priorities with longer\-term improvement objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across all levels of the business.
- Strong problem\-solving and decision\-making capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of productivity, labour efficiency, waste reduction and cost control.
- High standards of numeracy, literacy and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse production data and identify trends.
- IT literacy including Outlook, Excel and production management systems.
- Open, honest and committed to maintaining high standards of personal integrity and professionalism.
- Driven to deliver continuous improvement, operational excellence and outstanding product quality.
