Production Manager
Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all daily manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost\-effective production of high\-quality products. This role manages production planning, workforce performance, and operational processes to meet customer delivery requirements while maintaining compliance with quality, health \& safety, and environmental standards. Working closely with cross\-functional teams, the Manufacturing Manager drives continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, supports new product introductions, optimises resource utilisation, reduces waste, and implements process improvements to enhance productivity, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance. The role also has responsibility for budget control, staffing, training, and resolving production issues through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and supervise daily manufacturing operations.
- Manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor production performance, efficiency, and output.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures.
- Lead and develop production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, procurement, and supply chain teams.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Analyse production data and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Manage labor utilisation, staffing levels, and training programs.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and minimise production downtime.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and process improvements.
- Control manufacturing costs and monitor departmental budgets.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Qualified to minimum Level 4 HNC/HND, but experience will be considered.

- 5–10\+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
- 2–5\+ years of leadership or production management experience.
- Knowledge of:
- PCB assembly (SMT and Through\-Hole processes)
- Electronic testing and inspection
- ERP/MRP systems
- Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma methodologies
- ISO 9001 quality systems
- Strong leadership and problem\-solving skills.
- Experience with:
- Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
- ICT/FCT testing
- Electronic assembly processes
- Project management skills.
- Data analysis and KPI reporting.
- Excellent communication and team management abilities.
- Production output and throughput
- On\-time delivery (OTD)
- First\-pass yield (FPY)
