Job Summary:

As a Production Control Assistant Manager, you will coordinate production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed and delivered on time, whilst maintaining efficient workflows across operations. Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure materials, resources, and information are available when required to support production demands. Monitor order progress, identify potential delays or shortages, and take proactive action to minimise disruption and maintain service levels. Maintain accurate scheduling records and provide regular updates to stakeholders to support effective planning and continuous operational improvement.

Main Areas of Responsibility are as follows, but are not limited to:

1\. Production Planning (make sure all components and consumables are available in time for production. Determine potential options for production using data from Customer orders. Release the orders on SAP, create shortage information reports. Produce, update and maintain the production schedule daily

2\. Inventory Control.

3\. Provide information to the shipping department to allow them to book transport for finished goods.

4\. To identify and support production planning by generating shortage reports and maintain comments on running order. Comments to be updated regularly to for accuracy.

5\. Monitor and implement Engineering Changes on SAP, keeping all parties informed of progress.

6\. Schedule and hold daily meetings to update all involved and respond to inquiries quickly.

7\. Supervise a team of expeditors to Assist with the following tasks:

· Liaising with suppliers to make sure orders are produced and made available for collection or delivered on time to support production/sales targets. Daily report to be downloaded everyday detailing purchase order situation for each relevant supplier. Regular communication with suppliers to validate schedules and any comments recorded.

· Produce and issue delivery Schedule’s to Vendors (Manual schedules and Computer Generated).

· Attend weekly meetings with overseas suppliers by video link to discuss weekly activities and supply.

· Liaise with import team to request quotes to import shipments in a timely manner to support production/sales requirements.

· Coordinate container bookings into SUKM once vessels have docked with the intent to avoid any unnecessary store costs. Any costs incurred, planned or unplanned need to be controlled by raising internal authorisation form.

· To update production team members with any developments in daily production meetings.

Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality Management:

8\. Follow safe systems of work.

9\. Take part in departmental reviews to ensure safety procedures and standards are adhered to and take or initiate appropriate corrective action.

10\. Maintain good housekeeping, a healthy and safe work environment and the safe use of equipment and machinery.

11\. Ensure any health and safety concerns and/or issues are communicated/passed to HR.

Continuous Improvement:

12\. Initiate, participate and implement improvement programs and initiatives (including methods to improve departmental performance and decrease operating cost).

13\. Transfer knowledge to the team.

Other:

14\. Ensure all work and conduct is in accordance with Company Policies and procedures and Company Business System.

15\. Carry out any other reasonable request from time to time, as and when required.

Experience:

  • Experience using SAP

  • Problem Solving: Identify manufacturing bottlenecks, flag potential delivery delays, and find fast alternatives to keep production flowing.

  • Building strong relationships in a production or manufacturing business requires clear communication, consistent trust, and a collaborative approach with suppliers, staff, and client.

  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and keep processes orderly.

  • Time Management: Crucial for meeting tight deadlines and ensuring efficient workflow.

  • Problem\-Solving: The capacity to identify issues and implement solutions quickly.

  • Communication: Effective oral and written communication is necessary to interface with various teams and stakeholders.

  • Attention to Detail: Essential for tracking orders, verifying documents, and ensuring accuracy.

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and adhere to all safe systems of work and recycling guidelines. Always wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.

  • Exhibit a dependable and proactive approach to work, with a strong sense of responsibility and consistency.

  • Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with Managers line supervisors and colleagues.

  • Communicate well at all levels.
Pay: £45,841\.00 per year
