PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £60,000 \+ London Weighting (£5,441\) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Step into a pivotal role at BBC Studios where your expertise will shape the retail success of iconic brands like Bluey, Doctor Who, and BBC Earth. Drive innovative marketing strategies across diverse UK and European retail channels, ensuring our brands captivate and resonate with audiences everywhere. The Retail Development Manager role will execute omnichannel retail development and marketing strategies to maximize presence and support at retail all with a commercial ROI focus. The focus will be to expand and manage BBC Studios brands’ retail presence across multiple retail channels in the UK and EMEA incl. Ecom, Specialists, Grocers, Department, Discounters etc. There is so much opportunity to grow with us!
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT :
- Communicate, educate and motivate retail buyers, management and marketing teams on BBC Studios’ brands, content, marketing initiatives and licensing partners.
- Craft compelling, creative and customized brand collateral for UK \+ EMEA retail presentations including, but not limited to: Brand presentations, One\-pagers, Infographics, Sizzles / Visual graphics, Analysis and Summaries.
- Curate suite of campaign assets for evergreen, emerging and strategic marketing moments for Bluey, Doctor Who, BBC Earth and new brands in the pipeline.
- Create summary decks on brand campaign performance to help identify key learnings across UK and EMEA retailers.
- Execute retail marketing activations including in\-store events/promotions, costume appearances, online campaigns, and bespoke opportunities that will drive excitement, social engagement, traffic and sales.
- Collaborate with internal team, licensing partners and agencies to develop meaningful, step change retail events that achieve positive ROI.
- Analyse and evaluate retail and consumer trends to identify opportunities for brand/retail placement and retail marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to, build upon, and help facilitate marketing ideas that differentiate BBC Studios’ content from the competition for each channel of retail distribution.
- Coordinate efforts with internal teams – Brand, Marketing, Sales, Creative, PR, Finance and Legal to maximize efficiency and success.
ESSENTIAL CRIERTIA :
- Experience in licensing or entertainment, with a preference for backgrounds in Sales, Marketing, or Retail development
- Commercially orientated with a proven track record of delivering results
- Ability to lead and prioritize overlapping projects with tight deadlines from conception to completion
- Experience developing multi\-platform Marketing initiatives and campaigns
- Proficient in crafting compelling storytelling for our brands
- Well\-versed in UK and European Retail markets
- Proactive and collaborative team member
- Business proficiency in German, French or key European market languages desirable
