Remote working | Candidates must be UK based | Typical working pattern will be approx. 11am-8pm UK time.
We're partnering with a global technology organisation to hire a Product Design Engineer who can design and build next-generation AI-powered employee experiences. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Product Design, Front-End Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, helping shape the future of how employees interact with AI-powered tools. You'll join a highly innovative team focused on defining new interaction patterns, workflows and design systems for AI-native products.
This is not a traditional UX or graphic design role. We're looking for someone who designs experiences and then brings them to life through code, working directly alongside engineers to prototype, test and deliver production-ready solutions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and building AI-native product experiences for internal employee-facing platforms
- Creating new interaction patterns for conversational, agentic and AI-assisted workflows
- Defining design systems, reusable components and best practices for AI-powered products
- Working directly in code to prototype and refine user experiences
- Partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineers and AI specialists to shape product direction
- Designing for emerging AI challenges including uncertainty, latency, trust and multi-step interactions
- Conducting user research and usability testing to continuously improve experiences
- Contributing to the long-term design language and roadmap for AI-enabled products
- Experience in Product Design, Design Engineering, Front-End Engineering or a hybrid Design/Development role
- Expert-level Figma skills, including experience creating and maintaining component libraries and design systems
- Strong React, HTML and CSS experience
- Comfortable working directly within a codebase and collaborating with engineering teams
- Demonstrable experience designing AI-native products, conversational interfaces or LLM-powered applications
- Understanding of AI interaction patterns, prompt workflows, agentic systems and user experiences built around large language models
- Experience working with tools such as Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or similar AI platforms
- Strong portfolio, showcasing both design work and working prototypes/products
- Experience designing enterprise applications, internal tools or complex digital products
- AI product designers who can code
- Design engineers building AI-powered experiences
- Front-end engineers with exceptional product design capability
- Individuals experimenting with AI products through personal projects, startups or side ventures
- Candidates who can demonstrate both design thinking and technical execution

Please only apply if you can demonstrate AI product design experience and provide a portfolio, showing both design work and prototypes/code. Traditional UX, Graphic Design or Product Management backgrounds, without hands-on AI product design experience are unlikely to be considered for this opportunity.
