PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £40,200\-52,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the award\-winning Bitesize Other Side of the Story team and help shape media literacy content aimed at inspiring young people to become more critical and curious about what they see and share online. As Producer you will lead a small team in creating content that engages youth audiences and delivers on the BBC’s media literacy priorities.

You’ll become part of the Bitesize Teens and Parenting portfolio, which prides itself on its creativity and innovative approach to reaching disengaged audiences on subjects that really affect their lives.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Content commissioning and development: Lead the end\-to\-end production of Bitesize: Other Side of the Story web content, shaping ideas, briefs, and narratives that reflect diverse perspectives and engage young audiences.
- Editorial leadership and quality control: Ensure all content meets BBC editorial standards for accuracy, impartiality, and tone, while maintaining a clear, accessible voice tailored to Bitesize users.
- Cross\-team collaboration: Work closely with designers, developers, educators, and marketing teams to deliver cohesive, multimedia experiences that enhance learning and audience engagement.
- Audience insight and impact focus: Use analytics, user feedback, and audience research to refine content strategy, improve reach, and maximise relevance for students and teachers.
- Innovation and digital storytelling: Champion new formats and interactive storytelling approaches to keep the platform fresh, inclusive, and aligned with evolving digital consumption habits.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Proven experience in digital content production, ideally for youth, education, or public service audiences.
- Strong editorial judgement, with a clear understanding of accuracy, impartiality, and compliance.
- Ability to develop and oversee engaging, accessible content tailored to young people across web and multimedia formats.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and organisations, including internal and external stakeholders, plus editorial, design, and technical colleagues.
- Confidence using audience insight and data to inform content decisions and improve reach and impact.
- Experience working on educational or curriculum\-linked content, particularly within UK schooling or similar learning frameworks.
- Knowledge of publishing systems used within BBC Bitesize, or the ability to quickly learn and navigate internal content management tools.
- Journalistic experience, with strong storytelling skills and the ability to research, develop, and present balanced, engaging narratives.
