Salary: Competitive

We have a new opportunity for an NPD Buyer to join our Procurement team within Finsbury Food Group.

Finsbury Food Group is one of the UK's leading speciality bakery manufacturers. We continually raise quality, innovation, and operational standards while building long\-term, trusted relationships across retail, foodservice, and brand partnerships. Our portfolio spans a wide range of bakery categories—from market\-leading retailer own\-brand products to beloved licensed and branded ranges—produced across our nationwide network of bakeries.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast\-paced and highly collaborative environment where no two days are the same. Working at the heart of innovation, you’ll play a key role in supporting the successful development and launch of new products by sourcing ingredients, raw materials, and packaging solutions that meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.

To be successful in this role, you will work closely with NPD, Technical, Operations, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to ensure projects move smoothly from concept through to launch. You’ll identify and engage suppliers, manage costings, support commercial negotiations, and ensure all materials meet technical and regulatory requirements. Alongside this, you’ll help drive cost efficiencies, minimise supply risks, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement function.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast\-moving environment, is highly organised, commercially aware, and confident building relationships both internally and externally.

This is what you’ll actually do!

As NPD Buyer, you’ll support the delivery of new product launches from initial concept through to final production. You’ll source new ingredients, packaging, and raw materials, obtain supplier quotes and samples, and assess supplier capabilities to ensure the business has access to the best possible solutions.

You’ll work closely with cross\-functional teams including NPD, Technical, Operations, Planning, Commercial and Finance to ensure projects remain on track and all procurement activities align with launch timelines. You’ll also prepare detailed costings for new products, analyse supplier pricing, negotiate commercial terms, and identify opportunities to improve value and reduce risk.

A key part of the role will involve managing supplier relationships, maintaining accurate system data and specifications, and supporting supplier onboarding and compliance processes. You’ll also monitor market trends and material availability to help mitigate potential supply chain challenges before they impact projects.

This is a varied role where adaptability, communication, and strong organisational skills are essential. You’ll need to manage multiple priorities at once while maintaining excellent attention to detail and delivering against tight deadlines.

Your success will be measured through key KPIs including accuracy of product costings, on\-time delivery of procurement tasks within project timelines, supplier performance, data accuracy, cost\-saving initiatives, and successful risk mitigation across NPD projects.

Ideally this is you!
