Role Summary
During this 8\-week internship, you will gain hands\-on experience across both finance administration and procurement support. At the start and end of the week, you will work alongside the finance assistants, supporting daily tasks and building an understanding of the payables function. Midweek, you will work directly with the Procurement Manager, assisting with meetings, follow\-ups, costings, reviews, and day\-to\-day process management and governance.
You will have the opportunity to shadow strategic meetings with internal and external stakeholders and vendors, support the RFI/RFP process, assist with supplier research, and help with contract management and supplier performance reviews. You will also contribute to identifying cost\-saving opportunities. In the finance area, you will support mailbox and mail traffic management, assist with bank reconciliations, process payments, and handle incoming finance posts.
The internship will culminate in an end\-of\-programme project where you can showcase what you have learned, highlight your personal development, and provide insights that could help shape the future of the department.
Role Requirements
- Learn the basics of Procurement and Finance.
- Apply and practice processes using Purchase Orders and the Purchase Authorisation form.
- Shadow meetings with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
- Support procurement tasks, including supplier research, contracts, and supplier performance reviews.
- Help identify cost\-saving opportunities.
- Assist with finance tasks, such as mailbox management, bank reconciliations, expenses, and finance posts.
- Participate in training, shadowing, and professional development activities.
- Any additional duties.
- Currently studying for, or recently completed, a degree in Business, Procurement, or Finance, with a keen interest in cost savings and value\-adding spend.
- Good understanding of the procurement function.
- Computer knowledge, including experience using Microsoft programmes.
- Curious about business operations and demonstrates strong business acumen.
- Capable of building relationships.
- Ability to multitask, take care of conflicting priorities and work well under pressure.
- Analytical skills.
- Willingness to take on additional duties and work.
- Well organised with good attention to detail.
- Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
