About this position
What you'll do
- Provide technical advisory on plant and process safety topics for production (operating areas in accordance with the German 12th BImSchV), development/application engineering, and site operations within the German legal framework, as well as on project\-related matters across the Henkel Group
- Monitor the legally compliant operation of facilities within the Henkel Düsseldorf operating area, including coordination of external inspection bodies (e.g., TÜV) and participation in compliance audits
- Manage technical aspects of the safety management system and support their implementation at the Düsseldorf site on behalf of site management, in close collaboration with the Major Accident Officer
- Lead and/or facilitate risk assessments in accordance with the Industrial Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV), process risk evaluations, and hazard analyses with site and project teams, including deriving measures and ensuring their implementation
- Prepare expert statements for investments and modification projects within notification and approval procedures, and coordinate external experts in accordance with §§29a and 29b BImSchG
- Represent the interests of Henkel AG \& Co. KGaA as the operating company in dealings with authorities and in cross\-site process and plant safety matters
- Collaborate closely with colleagues from other SHE areas as well as regional and global Process Safety departments within Henkel’s Adhesives and Consumer Brands business units
- Drive the further development and continuous improvement of process safety standards, tools, programs, and workflows through a systematic approach, including conducting training and development sessions at Henkel sites in Germany
What makes you a good fit
- Completed degree (Master’s/Diploma) in process engineering, chemical engineering, safety engineering, or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the process industry, including team leadership with a high degree of independence and initiative
- Expertise in major accident regulations, pressure equipment, explosion protection, hazardous substances, water protection (AwSV), inspection management (SAP), as well as risk and hazard analyses (HAZOP/PAAG) and SIL (functional safety) assessments
- Ideally, an affinity for digitalization and advanced knowledge of O365
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
