An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join a highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants based in Torquay. This is a fantastic chance to take a senior role within a progressive practice that genuinely invests in its people. Working closely with partners and a well-established private client portfolio, you will take ownership of a varied and technically interesting caseload spanning high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates. The role offers real scope to make an impact, with the autonomy to manage client relationships at the highest level whilst contributing to the continued growth and development of the tax team.

Key Responsibilities • Managing a portfolio of private clients including high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates from planning through to compliance

  • Overseeing the preparation and review of self-assessment tax returns and associated correspondence with HMRC

  • Providing bespoke tax advisory services covering inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax planning

  • Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior members of the tax team

  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities for wider firm engagement

Requirements • Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
  • CTA qualified (or equivalent), with a strong grounding in private client tax

  • Proven ability to manage a complex portfolio with minimal supervision

  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and partners

  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and solution-focused approach
