We are looking for a Principal HR Business Partner to lead the people strategy for Amazon's International Tax and International Communications \& Corporate Responsibility (CCR) organizations — two highly complex, globally dispersed functions operating at the intersection of regulatory, reputational and cultural priorities. Reporting to the International G\&A HR Leader, this individual will partner directly with executive leaders across EMEA, APAC and the Americas to drive organizational design, executive development, and HR excellence at scale. The Principal HR Business Partner is a strategic role and is critical in building and executing our people initiatives across the International (Non\-US) organization including improving organizational effectiveness \& design, leading change management, providing leadership coaching and driving HR functional excellence. The individual should be able to effectively interact with business leaders at all levels, possesses excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and works effectively across multiple geographies in partnership with regional HR leaders.

Key job responsibilities

The individual in this role will partner with the various senior leaders (VPs and Directors) along with their respective leadership teams to develop and execute the HR strategies and planning activities that foster organizational and people effectiveness. The individual in this role must understand business priorities and translate them into an HR agenda that supports the business. The HR Leader will serve as a liaison between the business and the central corporate HR teams to assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development and leadership development.

The individual should possess the ability to diagnose problems as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions. The role will require the ability to leverage data to establish HR priorities and operating mechanisms to drive change. The individal will need a strong data analytics background, excellent communication skills, coaching skills, strategic thinking and planning/project management skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast\-paced environment. The individuals should be able to travel across EU, APAC and the US as appropriate.

The individual should demonstrate curiosity and hands\-on adoption of AI tools and resources to enhance HR effectiveness, including using generative AI, HR analytics platforms, and automation to streamline people processes, improve data\-driven decision\-making, and scale HR impact across a distributed workforce. In addition to proactively identifying opportunities to embed AI tools into HR processes and team workflows, the individual is expected to coach peers and business partners on practical applications and helping build AI fluency across the HR community

A day in the life

About the team

The team owns and drives the strategic people agenda for Corporate Teams (Finance, Legal, Public Policy and Communications \& Corporate Responsibility) for all International geos (Non\-US) of Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
------------------------

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Business/Management, Psychology, or a related field

  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and influencing colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders

  • Experience recognizing a challenge and working with a variety of teams and data sources to diagnose the problem and recommend solutions

  • Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast\-paced environment

  • • Travel up to 5\-20% of the time regularly throughout the assigned region and internationally

  • • Extensive experience in an HR Business Partner role, preferably in a high\-tech environment

  • • Strong expertise and experience working with global teams, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
----------------------------
  • Master's degree or above in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Business/Management, Psychology, or a related field

  • Experience working within a global company, with multi\-country responsibilities

  • Experience in the areas of management and leadership development, organization development, learning and development, group facilitation, training and training design, or equivalent business experience

  • Experience in advising and influencing executive leadership

  • Experience partnering with executive\-level leaders to identifying and solving business issues

  • Experience demonstrating strong analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data

  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

  • Experience establishing credibility quickly with senior level executives across organizations

  • Experience leading cross\-functional projects and managing large, complicated programs

  • •Demonstrates active adoption and strategic application of AI tools and resources within the HR function — including generative AI for workforce analytics, talent planning, and HR communications

  • • Possesses a mix of intellectual curiosity, creative thinking and pragmatism
