You will lead a team of engineers, scoping and delivering inspection\-related research projects, typically for an automotive or aerospace application, in collaboration with industry partners and/or other research groups within WMG. You will oversee activities across CiMAT’s multi\-million pound metrology facilities, and have responsibility for ensuring compliance with our ISO9001 Quality Management System.
The role will involve interfacing with both industrial and academic partners, understanding requirements and developing solutions utilising the latest software and hardware, often in short time frames.
About You
You will be educated to degree / HND level or equivalent, in an Engineering related discipline, and have a proven track record of the delivery of metrology research in an industrial context, with particular focus on automotive and aerospace sectors.
Your past experience will include hands\-on operation and programming of measurement technologies, creation and interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing information, and familiarity with Model Based Definition and its role in optimising manufacturing quality\-related activities.
You will possess strong interpersonal skills together with the ability to work with senior management of companies.
