Job Summary: Kiwa Building Products is looking for a Principal Certification Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and expert guidance across complex and high\-risk projects. This role focuses on advising teams, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring consistent, high\-quality delivery aligned to scope, budget, and regulatory requirements. While primarily advisory, you will lead strategically critical projects where required. This is a remote UK role. About the role:
- Act as a senior technical authority across projects, providing expert guidance and assurance
- Support development of robust, compliant technical scopes and challenge key assumptions
- Provide oversight to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with standards and certification requirements
- Support teams in resolving complex technical issues and act as an escalation point where needed
- Engage with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders on complex technical matters
- Identify and manage technical risk, ensuring effective governance and decision\-making
- Contribute to continuous improvement, best practice, and technical consistency across the business
- Mentor and support colleagues, strengthening technical capability and knowledge sharing
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
- Membership of a recognised professional engineering body (e.g. ICE, IStructE, IMechE, CIOB, IOMMM)
- Deep technical expertise in building products, construction, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong understanding of certification schemes and UKAS\-accredited environments
- Extensive experience of technical assessment, certification, or product approval processes (e.g. Agrément, CE/UKCA, third\-party certification).
- Proven ability to interpret complex standards and assess technical evidence
- Experience resolving high\-risk, non\-standard technical challenges and acting as a technical authority
- Background in construction\-focused certification, product approval, or assessment processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across clients, regulators, and internal teams
- up to £65,500 per annum
- Generous Annual Leave – Starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy additional leave and increased entitlement with length of service
- 37\.5 hours per week \- Monday to Friday, UK remote role
