Primary - Sen Teaching Assistant

I am currently working with a wonderful primary school based in Preston. The school are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced teaching assistant to join them on a full time basis asap. The role is Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30 and will be on a long term basis.

We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant Level 2 (TA2) to join the team supporting a Year 4 pupil who requires consistent guidance and encouragement throughout the school day.

The Role

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.


• Supporting a Year 4 pupil who can become frustrated and occasionally display disruptive behaviours.


• Working across both the classroom and breakout spaces as required.


• Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.


• Supporting the school's aim of ensuring the pupil remains included and integrated within the main classroom environment wherever possible.


• Collaborating closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and senior leaders.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.


• Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills.


• Is patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure.


• Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.


• Is committed to providing consistent support and "staying the course" when challenges arise.


• Has the character, confidence, and professionalism to help a child achieve success both academically and socially.

Experience working with pupils with social, emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs would be advantageous, although personality, attitude, and commitment are equally important.
