An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Early Careers Teacher to join our supportive primary school in Irlam (M44) on a full-time maternity cover basis from September 2026 until July 2027.
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and nurturing professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive difference within our Resource Provision.
The Role The successful candidate will undertake a range of HLTA responsibilities, including:
- Covering whole classes when required
- Planning and delivering lessons in line with teacher guidance and school expectations
- Supporting teaching and learning across the Resource Provision
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals
- Delivering high-quality SEND support and targeted interventions
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils
- Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Have strong knowledge and understanding of SEND
- Be adaptable, proactive and able to work independently
- Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Be committed to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
- Dedicated and experienced staff team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
