HLTA (Full-time)
- Location: Central Plymouth
- Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications
- Start: Sept 2026
- Temporary - 6 weeks initially
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and manage a nurture class with a maximum of 9 pupils, ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Deliver daily curriculum sessions as planned, alongside targeted wellbeing interventions informed by Boxall Profiles.
- Work collaboratively with a supporting team consisting of 1 HLTA and 1 TA to facilitate a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Conduct marking and other academic assessments as part of the role.
- Utilise duty-free playtimes and lunchtimes for preparation and marking, ensuring readiness for each teaching session.
- Address and support the specific SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and Communication & Interaction needs of pupils, fostering an inclusive and adaptive educational setting.
- Qualified HLTA status or equivalent educational qualification.
- Candidates with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) are highly encouraged to apply.
- Experience in managing or leading a classroom, particularly in a nurture or special needs setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and Communication & Interaction needs in children.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver educational content effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to professional development and learning, particularly in special education and wellbeing interventions.
