We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Practice Nurse to join our busy and patient\-focused general practice team. This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse who is passionate about delivering high\-quality primary healthcare, preventative care, health promotion, and chronic disease management.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide a broad range of clinical nursing services while supporting the ongoing delivery of exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide a range of nursing services including:
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Administration of injections and immunisations
- Wound care and dressings
- Cervical screening (smears)
- Ear irrigation
- Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- Blood pressure monitoring and 24\-hour BP monitor application
- Chronic disease management support
- Patient triage and clinical advice
- Health promotion and patient education
- Assistance with minor surgical procedures
- Basic life support and emergency care
- STI screening
- Liaise with hospitals, laboratories, community agencies, and other healthcare professionals
- Assist in the development and review of practice protocols and procedures
- Conduct clinical audits and quality improvement activities
- Sterilise and maintain clinical instruments and equipment
- Maintain emergency equipment and treatment room stock
- Ensure vaccine cold chain compliance
- Manage patient recall systems and disease registers
- Support infection prevention and control measures
- Assist with regulatory compliance requirements, including HIQA standards
- Maintain accurate patient records using practice management software
- Registered General Nurse with An Bord Altranais (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)
- Minimum 2 years post\-registration nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and decision\-making skills
