Fixed\-Term Contract – Maternity Cover

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly and patient\-focused practice on a fixed\-term maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in a busy general practice environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

While this position is initially offered as maternity cover, there may be an opportunity for the role to be extended or converted into a permanent position in the future, subject to practice requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high\-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with professional standards and practice policies.


• Carry out chronic disease management clinics, including asthma, COPD, diabetes, and cardiovascular monitoring.


• Administer vaccinations and immunisations in line with national guidelines.


• Perform cervical screening and women's health services, where qualified.


• Conduct wound care, dressings, and suture removal.


• Assist with screening programmes and preventative healthcare initiatives.


• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using the practice management system.


• Participate in infection prevention and control procedures.


• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient

• Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).


• Previous experience in general practice is desirable but not essential.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


• Strong organisational and time\-management skills.


• Good computer skills.
