Power & Gas Portfolio Optimiser
As a Power \& Gas Portfolio Optimiser, you play a key role in optimising Luminus’ power and gas portfolios from short\-term to long\-term horizons. You combine market expertise, analytical insight and stakeholder coordination to translate hedging strategies into concrete trading and optimisation decisions, all within the defined risk framework.
What you’ll do
- You implement and continuously improve the power and gas hedging strategy from D\+2 up to Y\+5, fully aligned with the risk mandate.
- You analyse integrated portfolios across power, gas, CO₂ and FX, identifying synergies and optimisation opportunities.
- You manage weather\- and volume\-related risks and work closely with forecasting teams to ensure smooth demand and renewables outlooks.
- You act as the main point of contact between Optimisation and Generation, coordinating thermal asset availability and production planning.
- You nominate generation availabilities and production plans to ELIA from week\-ahead to year\-ahead horizons.
- You contribute to transparent portfolio models, reporting tools and ETRM system setups in close collaboration with Middle and Back Office.
- You hold a Master’s degree in engineering, finance or economics, with a solid understanding of energy markets (power, gas, CO₂).
- You have at least 3 years of working experience.
- You are familiar with financial instruments such as forwards, options and swaps.
- You take proactive decisions, even with incomplete information, and remain stress\-resistant in a fast\-moving environment.
- You communicate complex topics clearly and confidently to both peers and senior management.
- You enjoy challenging existing processes and turning abstract concepts into practical improvements.
- You are fluent in English and have a good command of Dutch or French; strong Excel and/or Python skills are a clear asset.
