As part of our commitment to innovation and excellence, Ofgem is seeking a PMO Senior Manager within the Long Duration Electricity Storage (LDES) and Interconnectors (IC) team responsible for project management duties including planning, coordination, governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. This PMO Senior Manager role will benefit for a general understanding and/or experience/exposure of energy/government policy programmes.
The Long Duration Electricity Storage (LDES) and Interconnectors (IC) team is a collection of high performing, collaborative, and flexible staff and sits within the Major Projects Directorate at Ofgem.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading on project manager and coordinator functions such as actively developing and maintaining programmes/plans, risks/issues registers and other project management tools. Coordinating multi\-disciplinary teams, outputs/outcomes, benefits and lessons learned. Developing and implementing best practice project management tools, templates, and benchmarks against industry standards. Act as the central point of expertise for project and programme management across the portfolio
- Governance \& Leadership. Ensuring appropriate internal and external governance is in place, regularly reviewed and the team adhere to it. Being proactive and forward thinking to be able to anticipate what the team/programmes will require and come up with ideas and ultimately collectively agreed solutions. Contributing to the overall leadership and Ofgems inclusive culture. Provide senior leadership oversight on project execution, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Financial planning and commercial oversight. Managing programme budgets, tracking spend, and forecasting resource requirements across the portfolio. Supporting and, where appropriate, leading early\-stage commercial activity, including consultancy scoping and procurement processes.
- Reporting (internal and external). Including monitoring project progress, data gathering, preparation and presentation of information in our different team sessions and governance boards. Provide clear visibility of programme performance, resource needs, and delivery risks to senior leaders.
- Stakeholder engagement and communication. Building and maintaining positive/collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including influencing and consensus\-building skills. Being a skilled collaborator and possess strong communication abilities, essential for effective teamwork and project articulation. Represent the programme/PMO function in external forums where required.
- Organisational tasks such as overseeing business and administrative support functions including meetings coordination, minutes/actions and other wide team coordination activities.

- Proven experience in leading and managing large\-scale projects or programmes, including detailed planning and delivery. (LEAD)

- Skilled in identifying, managing, and reporting risks and issues within project environments.
- Strong relationship\-building skills with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, enhancing project confidence and capability.
