Role Overview

H\&J Martin are currently seeking to add an experienced plumber to our hard working and dedicated team in Scotland. H\&J Martin currently carry out multi\-trade property reinstatements including Kitchen and Bathroom upgrades for Local Authorities and Housing Associations alongside reactive and pre planned maintenance works for our commercial clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity of a long\-term secure position that will provide personal growth and career progression for the right individuals within a successful, friendly, and professional company where staff are valued.

What you'll do

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

• Managing workload


• Health and Safety Awareness at all times before during and after works have been completed.


• MRSA (Carrying out Method Statement \& Risk assessments on planned, remedial and project works)


• Assessing works and providing reports, quotations and remedial recommendations with costs after the completion of tasks or works


• Liaising with Helpdesk daily, weekly and monthly to schedule works


• The ability to complete all paperwork and check sheets in a timely and appropriate manner


• Prioritising of workload as required


• Act as a role model for ongoing implementation of H\&J Martin policies and procedures


• Provide technical support to team on all ongoing works


• Be point of contact on a daily basis for any ongoing challenges


• Support and provide input to department improvement strategy and plans


• Provide support as required to other departments within the business as requested


• Proactive approach to delivering maintenance in an efficient and effective manner


• Problem solving ensuring a solution for all required repairs in a timely manner


• Positively and actively contribute to and participate in continuous improvement activities in the team


• Impeccable completion of all relevant paperwork including service reports and remedial works sheets


• High standard of housekeeping, material handling and safety at all times


• Provide on\-call cover on a rota basis *\*To Be Discussed*


• Other duties as may be required from time to time depending on the needs of the business

What you’ll bring

As a Plumber your main skills and experience will include:

*Essential Criteria*

• Plumber with commercial, industrial experience.


• Proven experience in domestic plumbing, including kitchen and bathroom work


• Significant relevant experience in similar role, with a proven track record and experience


• Significant relevant experience of using power hand tools to carry out functions of the role


• Have and maintain a full valid driving license


• Have a proven ability to use mobile technology and be good with paperwork


• Be a good communicator both with clients and own team

• CSR Card


• IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office


• Be self\-motivated with a proven track record of achieving targets


• Have an understanding of electrical skills including controls systems


• Legionella awareness and qualification


• Experience in boiler servicing


• Knowledge of steam systems.


• Qualified to work on commercial/industrial \& domestic gas systems
