Planning Solicitor, 1-6 PQE, Milton Keynes, £55,000 to £70,000 (DOE). This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and ambitious Planning Solicitors to join this rapidly growing team. You can choose your office base across the firms regions, but with the opportunity to work from any of the other locations from time to time. You will be working with a broad range of clients on all aspects of planning law for projects across the Eastern Region and the Midlands and beyond from residential and commercial development to retail, agriculture and renewable energy schemes. PLANNING SOLICITOR:
You will have 1–6 years’ PQE and be hardworking, personable, and keen to learn and develop within a collaborative team environment.

You will have a sound working knowledge of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and related legislation, together with experience advising clients on a range of planning matters. You will be confident in drafting Section 106 agreements, highways and drainage agreements, and other infrastructure agreements, with the ability to manage matters from instruction through to completion. Experience in enforcement matters, as well as Certificates of Lawfulness (CLEUDs and CLOPUDs), is required.

You will be able to manage a varied workload effectively while maintaining strong working relationships with clients and colleagues. Responsibilities will include managing all aspects of the client relationship, from engagement through to billing and debt collection; preparing and reviewing legal documentation, including development agreements and court proceedings; and ensuring compliance with all file management and audit procedures.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support the firm’s objectives and will regularly liaise with and report to Senior Associates and Partners.

The following experience would be advantageous but is not essential:

  • Experience instructing Counsel, leading planning appeals, and handling judicial review or statutory challenge matters

  • Working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment

  • Some familiarity with Development Consent Orders and Compulsory Purchase matters

  • Experience delivering presentations or seminars, either in person or via webinar

  • Experience supervising or supporting junior team members where required
