Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol is the Level 1 service for patients with complex neurological rehabilitation needs for the South West of England. We have 52 rehabilitation beds and offer both Level 1 (intensive) and Level 2 (slower stream) specialist inpatient rehabilitation for patients with brain injury and other neurological conditions. The service is a part of the Active Care Group.
Physiotherapy Assistant in Neurorehabilitation
Full Time 1 year fixed term contract – 35 hours per week
We are offering a great opportunity to join our highly skilled physiotherapy team as a Physiotherapy Assistant, helping patients to maximise their physical recovery after life changing events such as traumatic or acquired brain injury. The post is a 1 year fixed term contract and may appeal to those considering a career as a physiotherapist, wanting to gain skills, experience and/or a better understanding of the profession.
The role will involve:
- carrying out exercise and mobility programmes
- assisting physiotherapists with treatment sessions, including hydrotherapy
- running exercise groups
- using specialist equipment such as standing frames, walking harnesses, treadmills and wheelchair accessible exercise bikes
- supporting the team with administrative tasks and maintaining a tidy and functional gym
- understanding the wider effects of brain injury on physical rehabilitation

- have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
