Pharmacy Dispenser

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail\-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. Experience is not necessary, as full training will be provided, and this role may suit an apprentice. We are already an established training site for both pharmacy trainees and technicians up to ACT, and we are now developing a new team of highly motivated individuals. The successful candidate will play a vital role in accurately dispensing medications, supporting patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with pharmacy technician experience or those interested in developing their skills within a professional healthcare environment. Candidates must be committed to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols and legal requirements


• Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring correct dosage and timing


• Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage


• Prepare and label prescriptions clearly and efficiently, maintaining detailed records of dispensed medicines


• Support inventory management by stock checking, ordering supplies, and ensuring medication storage compliance


• Maintain a clean and organised work environment following health and safety regulations


• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience is desirable but not required (training provided)


• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols (can be learned on the job)


• Strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality


• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail


• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment


• Good communication skills to interact confidently with patients and colleagues


• Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy assistance or healthcare are advantageous but not essential
