Pharmacy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently


• Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage


• Manage stock levels, including receiving deliveries, organising shelves, and ensuring medication expiry dates are monitored


• Support with medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety protocols


• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient information, and inventory updates


• Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations


• Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pharmacy counter assistant here in the UK is required


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors in prescription handling


• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals


• Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism


• A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy assistance or related field is desirable but not essential
