Grade 7 – £28,132 + 17.5% all-inclusive allowance

Part-Time | 21 hours per week | Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City of Doncaster Council as a Waking Nights Officer within Children’s Residential Homes.

The Role Working under the direction of the Registered Manager, you will help provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people with disabilities and complex care needs during night hours.

Key Responsibilities • Overnight supervision and regular welfare checks

• Ensuring the home is safe, secure, and well-maintained


• Light housekeeping duties (cleaning, laundry, ironing)


• Completing paperwork and maintaining accurate records


• Responding to incidents and liaising with external agencies if required


• Working independently with support from a sleep-in staff member

About You • Strong communication and basic IT skills

• Ability to work independently and follow structured shift plans


• Caring, reliable, and professional approach


• Willingness to complete training, including QCF Level 3 (within 2 years)


• Ability to undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training
