Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Doncaster

£39,890 + 8.5% all-inclusive allowance

Hours & Shift Pattern • 148 hours over a 4-week rota

  • Includes 2 weekends working, 2 weekends off

  • Shift patterns:

  • 7am – 3pm

  • 2pm – 10pm

  • Sleep-in shifts (2pm – 11pm)

  • In absence of the Registered Manager: 8am – 4pm shifts

About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a Children’s Residential Home in Doncaster.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager, playing a key role in the day-to-day management of the home. In their absence, you will take full responsibility for the service, ensuring high-quality care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

This is a rewarding leadership role where you can make a real impact on the lives of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities • Support the overall management and efficient running of the home

  • Lead on safeguarding practices and ensure compliance at all times

  • Develop and monitor high-quality, individualised care plans

  • Supervise, support, and develop the staff team

  • Manage rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels

  • Conduct audits and drive continuous quality improvement

  • Build strong partnerships with families, professionals, and external agencies

  • Support recruitment, induction, and training of staff

  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards

  • Act as building manager, ensuring Health & Safety, Fire, and Environmental compliance

About You • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within children’s residential care
  • Experience supporting young people with complex and challenging behaviours

  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality standards

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Flexible and resilient, with the ability to respond to crisis situations

Qualifications • Level 3 QCF Children & Young People (or equivalent) – desirable
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Care) – desirable

  • Willingness to undertake further training, including physical intervention where required
