Performance Marketing Director

General Description of the Role
The Performance Marketing Director oversees the execution, scaling, and optimisation of all performance acquisition channels across the portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Growth, this role bridges centralised strategy with vertical execution. You will manage the performance marketing resources embedded within the vertical BUs, transitioning agency dependencies to strong in\-house capabilities to drive Traffic, Leads, and NAAs efficiently.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise multi\-channel performance marketing campaigns (Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, App Install) across all vertical squads.
- Lead and mentor the team of performance marketers embedded within vertical business units, ensuring high functional standards and sharing of best practices.
- Execute the centralised performance strategy, actively managing the acquisition budgets to maximise ROI and minimise CPA across the portfolio, while increasing volumes.
- Assess insourcing external agency dependencies and building robust, scalable in\-house campaign execution capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing Analytics \& Tech to ensure rigorous tracking, multi\-touch attribution, and continuous A/B testing frameworks are applied to all campaigns.
- Extensive hands\-on experience managing large\-scale performance marketing budgets and complex, multi\-channel campaigns at a tech, marketplace, or e\-commerce brand.
- Proven track record of managing and developing teams, particularly in a matrixed, distributed, or Center of Excellence (CoE) structure.
- Deep technical expertise in major ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, Apple Search Ads, Programmatic DSPs), bidding algorithms, and audience strategies.
- Experience transitioning operations from external agencies to internal teams is highly preferred.
- Low\-ego, fair, leader who opts to provide the benefit of the doubt and lean in to develop those around them.
- Results\-driven and highly analytical, with a relentless focus on commercial metrics and profitable scaling.
- Strong operational leader capable of balancing centralised directives with the nuanced needs of vertical business units.
