People Services Advisor (Maternity Cover)
At Severn Hospice, caring is at the heart of everything we do – and that includes caring for our staff and volunteers.
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and people\-focused professional to join our dedicated and supportive People Services team on a fixed\-term 12 month maternity cover contract. Working closely with the Head of People Services, you will play a key role in delivering a professional, comprehensive and efficient HR service across the organisation.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on a wide range of people matters, helping to ensure best practice, compliance and a positive employee experience. With your excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and sound knowledge of HR processes, you’ll oversee the day\-to\-day operations of the People Services function and support the continuous development of our policies, systems and ways of working.
You’ll take responsibility for a variety of activities including recruitment, employee relations, absence management, compliance monitoring and workforce reporting. Working closely with managers across the hospice, you’ll support the recruitment, engagement and development of staff and volunteers, while helping to create an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
As part of this varied role, you’ll lead on HR projects and process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and initiatives. You will be part of a team to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of HR services across the organisation.
We’re looking for someone with previous experience in an HR advisory role, excellent communication and relationship\-building skills, and the confidence to provide practical and professional advice across a broad range of HR matters. CIPD level 5 qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous.
