People Development Manager

Dundee (Hybrid Role with travel in Scotland)

Full Time Position (35 hours a week)

I am pleased to be working again with one of our long-standing clients in the Professional Services Sector who have created a brand-new role for a People Development Manager to head up the L&D Function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing firm with a real ability to work autonomously and shape the L&D Strategy.

Duties include:

Learning & Development

• Design and deliver practical learning solutions across technical, advisory, management, and leadership skills aligned to the Firm’s 5-year strategy.


• Regularly review and improve content, methods, and materials to keep them relevant and effective Introduce new approaches, tools, and technologies to keep our learning offer current and engaging

HL Academy

• Lead and continually develop the HL Academy to ensure it reflects business needs


• Gather feedback and use it to improve content and delivery

Trainee Programme

• Oversee a structured, high-quality trainee programme aligned to firm goals


• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear development pathways and performance tracking


• Support trainees throughout their journey, helping them succeed and resolve challenges early

Onboarding

• Deliver a structured onboarding experience that sets people up well from day one


• Ensure new joiners have the skills, knowledge, and support they need to perform quickly and confidently

Talent Development & Succession

• Develop programmes to support high-potential employees and future leaders Introduce mentoring, leadership development, and clear progression pathways


• Support Head of People team with succession planning

Culture & Engagement

• Design and deliver development solutions that support culture change and embed firm values


• Use insights from engagement surveys and feedback to shape learning priorities


• Help create an environment where people can perform at their best and feel engaged in their work

Manager Capability

• Support managers to develop their teams effectively


• Provide coaching and deliver practical leadership development


• Equip managers with tools to drive performance and support career growth

Planning & Prioritisation

• Work with the Head of People on training needs analysis Identify priorities based on business goals and future capability needs


• Ensure solutions are high quality and cost-effective

Systems & Insight

• Manage and develop the LMS and performance systems to support development


• Use data and feedback to assess impact and continuously improve


• Ensure learning and performance processes are aligned and adding value

External Relationships

• Build strong relationships with training providers, professional bodies, and education partners


• Create pipelines through schools, colleges, and universities

To be considered for these roles, candidates must have the following:

• Experience of leading, designing and delivering L&D Initiatives


• Experience conducting training needs analysis, ensuring a commercial focus


• Ability to create and work with blended learning solutions


• Confidence liaising with various stakeholders and external providers effectively
