Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you are a key player in delivering a seamless HR experience for our employees and managers. You handle daily HR operations with precision, while also taking ownership of more complex or escalated cases when they arise.

Every day, you make a difference by ensuring HR processes are completed accurately, on time, and with a strong focus on customer experience. You take pride in getting things right and in helping others navigate HR topics with confidence.

You work within ABB’s global HR framework, applying standardized processes while ensuring everything aligns with Belgian legal and regulatory requirements. This balance between global consistency and local expertise is where your impact truly shows.

Your responsibilities are diverse and will evolve with the needs of the business, including—but not limited to—the following:

  • Manage end\-to\-end payroll processing for the Belux region, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes.

  • Maintain and validate payroll data, time \& attendance records, holiday balances, and absences.

  • Prepare payroll payments, perform monthly checks, support reconciliations, and contribute to year\-end and audit activities.

  • Ensure correct and timely completion of social and legal payroll documents.

  • Generate payroll reports and respond to questions from employees, managers, and stakeholders.

  • Support and monitor payroll\-related financial reporting processes.

  • Contribute to and, where relevant, lead payroll improvement initiatives and cross\-HR projects.

  • Manage the administration of group and hospitalization insurance, including monthly follow\-up and annual reviews.

  • Handle administrative processes such as A1 certificates, Amex applications, and meal \& eco vouchers.

  • Review and approve invoices in line with internal controls.

  • Collaborate closely with external payroll providers, authorities, and vendors, while continuously improving processes and documentation.

Qualifications for the role

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accountancy\-Taxation, or a related field.

  • You bring several years of experience in payroll, ideally in an international environment.

  • You have a strong knowledge of and interest in Belgian social and tax legislation.

  • You are comfortable working with MS Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP HR, Workday, or payroll accounting systems is a plus.

  • You work accurately and use your analytical skills to solve problems and ensure quality.

  • You have a service\-oriented mindset and enjoy working collaboratively in a team.

  • You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English, both written and spoken.
