£250 per day

Are you an experienced Payroll Manager who has working knowledge of SD Worx? Our Hemel Hempstead based client are recruiting for someone to join them 2/3 days a week on an ongoing basis. This is a standalone role, where you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll of 600 staff.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate payroll records, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and benefits


• Calculate wages, overtime, pensions, and statutory payments (e.g. SSP, SMP, SPP)


• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and payroll legislation


• Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC


• Manage tax codes, National Insurance contributions, and student loan deductions


• Handle payroll queries from employees in a timely and professional manner


• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies


• Prepare and issue payslips, P60s, and P45s


• Liaise with HR and finance teams regarding employee data changes


• Support audits and ensure payroll data accuracy and security


• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information

• Previous experience in payroll administration (preferred)


• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC processes


• Proficiency in SD Worx payroll system


• Strong numeracy and attention to detail


• Excellent organisational and time management skills


• Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially


• Good communication and problem-solving skills
